Thymogen

Research context

A long-term rat study recorded survival and spontaneous tumor counts after repeated subcutaneous administration of the dipeptide Thymogen (L-Glu-L-Trp) to outbred female rats.

What has been studied

Anisimov, Khavinson, and Morozov (2000) gave the dipeptide L-Glu-L-Trp by repeated subcutaneous injection to outbred female rats and followed the cohort to natural death. The recorded endpoints were survival and microscopically examined spontaneous tumors.

These labels restate the setting of the cited paper. They are not new findings and do not describe a catalog material.

What remains uncertain

Limitations

Survival and tumor-count endpoints in one rat cohort do not establish a human immune, aging, or cancer outcome.
