LL-37

Research context

Cathelicidin literature examines LL-37-related epithelial biology using organ-cultured human skin and measurements of re-epithelialization.

What has been studied

Heilborn et al. (2003) measured hCAP18/LL-37 in wounded human skin and in chronic-ulcer epithelium, and used organ-cultured human skin as an ex vivo model. In that culture, antibodies directed at LL-37 were applied and re-epithelialization was recorded.

These labels restate the setting of the cited paper. They are not new findings and do not describe a catalog material.

Limitations

An ex vivo skin model is not a clinical efficacy or safety study. This reference does not establish a topical or other human-use application.
